Soap Opera News had the pleasure of interviewing stars of screen, music, and social media, the D’Ambrosio twins! Bianca and Chiara’s careers started at the age of three when they were cast as Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless. Since then they have starred in major productions like The Closer and Parks and Recreation. Recently, the duo was cast as the leads in the upcoming The Bay spinoff series, yA! Check out our chat with the stars below as they tease about what’s to come:

What has it been like going through the exciting world of stardom with your sister?

Bianca; It’s been exciting and hard sometimes. There are a lot of no’s in this business and to have my sister by my side to help through it all is amazing. We have been lucky to be able to work together and separately and we love it!

Chiara; My sister has always been my best friend, so to go through an amazing experience like acting with her is amazing.

What has been the most surprising thing you’ve discovered about yourself through your career?

Bianca; I think something surprising for me is how I’ve been able to not focus on people who say negative things.  Not letting that get to you is hard to overcome but over the years I’ve learned to not pay attention and love myself.

Chiara; I’ve discovered that sometimes the role I audition for or book, relates to me in a certain way. Whether it's our personalities or our stories, something usually correlates with who we are and it’s so cool.

Congrats on your roles in yA! Can you each tell us a little about your characters Regan and Frankie?

Bianca; Frankie is the adventurous one of the Sanders sisters. She strives to fit in and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Chiara; Regan Sanders is a down to earth teenager who wants to help everyone around her. She doesn’t like to become friends with people super fast, but over time she realizes the people she surrounds herself with help her overcome her family drama. She also cares so deeply for her older sister Frankie, and always tries to find ways to put her sister before herself.

Can you tease a little about what’s coming up on The Bay?

Bianca; The Bay is celebrating 10 years!!!  So many developing plotlines this year.  Wait to see what happens in Season 6!!! We cannot talk about specifics but you will not be disappointed!

Chiara; In The Bay, new family drama happens between the Garrett’s. Also, in the most recent episodes, the cast of the show travels to Turks and Caicos for a mysterious pendant that curses their family. This is only the start...

What has it been like working with Gregori, Kristos, Wendy, and the rest of the crew?

Bianca; Working with Gregori, Kristos, Wendy, and the rest of The Bay family has been amazing. They are all such good people and always make working together with a blast.

Chiara; We just worked during the pandemic and everyone pulled together to get everything done. They are extremely hard-working, talented, and such an honor to work with.

Is there a fun story from the set that you could share with us?

Bianca; For THE BAY, we were lucky to work during the pandemic and had a chance to be on this magical ranch.  They had so many different animals we decided to do a Tiktok and one of the llamas spit at us. Obviously, they do not like being in Tiktoks. LOL

Chiara; On the yA set,  we were filming a night scene on the football field of the High School and all the water sprinklers came on and we all went running.

Is there a release date yet for yA?

Chiara; The storylines had to match up between THE BAY and yA so it will be soon!!

Do you have any other upcoming projects that we can look forward to at this time?

Bianca; Right before quarantine I worked on a movie called “Lady of the Manor” with Justin Long and Judy Greer in Florida which should be coming out next year. Chiara and I went to New York last Halloween to film a horror movie called “Slapface” with August Maturo and Dan Hedaya which is coming out soon too!

Chiara; Bianca and I are in a new movie called “Fear of Rain” with Katherine Heigl and Madison Iseman which should be in theatres next year.

What’s next? What is a goal that you have for the future - personal or professional?

Bianca; In the future, I want to still be acting and starting to direct films and TV shows. My ultimate goal in life is to be happy, explore new things, and to direct and write with my twin sister like the Duffer Brothers.

Chiara; In the future, I would love to write and direct a project I make. Whether it be a show or movie, I think it will be fun to create a project. Also, I would love to write a book one day.

Is there a message that you want to share with your fans and supporters?

Bianca; To never give up!  I know it sounds cliché but it’s true. There are times when we go to producers and callbacks on projects and still don’t book it. That just happened to me.  Never give up even through hard times and all will be worth it in the long run. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Chiara; To our supporters, remember to not let people’s opinions of you get in the way of following your dreams.

Thank you, Bianca and Chiara!
